I'm worn out and run down

But that's not what I'm going to talk about right now. What I'm going to do is just sort of ramble on for a while. I feel like posting something but I don't have a single spectacularly good subject on which to do so..

I'm just barely old enough to remember Reagan in office. In fact I can remember one of his campaign ads from his second term. It talked about lower taxes and showed footage of a grocery store and talked about lower prices. The commercial is kinda stuck in my head for some reason. Most of what Remember concerning Reagan is that ad and the news stories surrounding the attempt on his life.

This is an exciting time in software development. The landscape of software development is undergoing radical changes due in most part to the growing Open Source Software paradigm. Software development companies are more and more turning to OSS as a way to cut costs minimize downtime and get free R&D. Big names like IBM and Novell are getting into the act. Corporate sponsorship of Non-Profit Open Source Foundations is the new way to compete in a formerly stifled market. Other companies are scrambling for a way to maintain their footing in this new world of software.

My new hobby project is writing a new armature system for Blender. If anyone feels like looking at my slowly forming thoughts on that subject you can look at the wiki here.

Instead of saying rundown, i prefer to think of myself as feeling well used. :)
