Jews and the Passion

This excerpt of a news wire from the Sci Fi Website illustrates how "wussy" our nation has come when it comes to race issues and "Hate Mongering"

"Jewish leaders have been saying for months that any film based on the Gospel accounts of Jesus' life and death risked depicting Jews as Christ-killers and stirring up anti-Semitism, Reuters reported."

Since when has telling the truth become "hate mongering"? The facts of Jesus Death on the cross are historically verifiable. Historical fact should never be avoided on the basis that it might be "offensive". Neither for that matter should recent fact. If we become so touchy that the truth must be avoided then we are too touchy.

My name is John Mark. In fact my name is in the Bible, as there was a person with the same name who was a friend of Christ. Maybe it is a coincidence that my name is also there. Having said that I have this to comment about the Jews fearing being called Christ killers in the upcoming movie by Mel Gibson.

Everyone of us has the right to fall in love with our God whether it would be Jesus as it is in my case, or Messiah, or Krisna in others, just as every one of us has the right to fall in love with the man, or woman of his or her choice. This choice is absolutely persona and should be inherently individual, and we should not be told whom we should fall in love with whether it would be a choice of our God, or a man or woman we wish to love. It is after all one and the same force behind it and that's what really matters.

The fear of Jewish anti-semitism because of this movie are unfounded. They have the right to await their Messiah just as we Catholics or Evangelists also elect to await ours out of the same motivation - because it's love that motivates our spiritual life. The death of Jesus has nothing to do with the accountability of the Jews for it and the feared anti-semitism as a result of it. A true Christian could not possibly resent a Jew for being a Jew as a consequence of Jesus Christ's crucifixion because it would be contradictory with his or her true feelings towards his or her Messiah. If a Christian person did that they would not be true Christians but hypocrites, and while many people around the world are hypocrites in their believes and even in their belief systems, most Americans are NOT hypocrites and this includes all races and religions.

Many human beings have been persecuted and are being persecuted by someone, or something all over the world. Let's pray for them and let's respect their religious history just as we would expect them to respect ours.

Typing that you dont see the point sounds kinda ignorant. This is quoted from the internet,"Passion plays, dramas about the death of Jesus, date from the 12th century, and were performed in hundreds of European communities. Between the 14th and 16th centuries, more than 300 villages in Germany and Austria re-enacted the Passion. Lethal bloody reactions against Jews often followed Passion play performances. Physical attacks were so appalling that in 1338 the councilors of Freiburg banned the performance of anti-Jewish scenes of that town's play. The Frankfurt Jewish ghetto was protected in 1469, and in 1539 a Passion play was forbidden in Rome because of the violent attacks against the city's Jewish residents."
Did you even know what "The Passion" has done to jews? A friend of mine, her grandmother watched a jew get beheaded all because of a play called "The Passion" Hitler showed his troops the play "The Passion" to show how jews really are to blame and show be killed. Even as I speak this leader in Asia is trying to get Christians and Muslims together because he says "We ened to get rid of them" so dont say you dont get the point. That movie, play is as old as dirt and it has never be done for any good. And dont try to say ppl today arent that dumb, because that is so wrong. I hear children in class rooms make anti-semitists jokes even before this movie. So before you say "I dont get what they are worried about" try to take a look at a jews view and then maybe you'll understand. and by the way. Temples were already being burned down in America already we dont need murder cases. Someone is going to get hurt... i am sure of it.
